Glossary

I am fairly certain that the vocabulary of my household will be new to all my readers (or most, since many from my family read this). So, I've compiled a list of words and their definitions, that may be updated whenever I deem necessary, and should be helpful in further reading of this blog. Also, just hearing these words is bound to bring about a smile.
Warning: Many of the following terms were invented by a potty training two-year-old, and therefore may be offensive to those not used to talking about things that take place in the restroom.

Cal'nder: a tall flat multipurpose surface usually found in kitchens and other work spaces. ie. My juice is on the cal'nder.

Daddy's Chair: a large recliner between the couch and television that is a little more broken each day. ie. Chachael in Daddy's chair.

Did-doh: Skyler's pronunciation of "Disco", the family's fatter cat. Also used to refer to the other cat, Hunter. ie. Uh-oh. Did-doh ou'side.

Envelote: a paper receptacle used to ship small items such as letters, cards to Grammys, or lens caps. ie. Mommy got an envelote in the mail with new stuff for her camera.

The Library Store: (This one is pretty obvious, but it makes me laugh.) Serene's term for library. (I can't talk her out of it.) ie. Do you have the card so we can go to the library store?


Papple: a term used to refer to most fruits and some vegetables. ie. Look, Bob Papple! (In reference to Bob the Tomatoe) or Mommy bought some orange papples!


Spanish: anything that cannot be understood. ie. Are you speaking Spanish?! I don't know what a pil-los-so-sir is! or I think that people in Africa speak Spanish.

Speed: AKA Lightning McQueen; a race car who finds a new perspective after being held prisoner and forced to repave a road he destroyed in a small town along Route 66; a popular Disney animated character. ie. I Speed [engine noise]. or I want Speed wear-wears.

Tee-Tee: Our family's term to refer to the sister of either parent; an aunt. ie. All your tee-tees love you very much.



Waffle dog (also awful dog-dog): a corn dog with a side of maple syrup, commonly consumed by small boys in diapers at 8 am. ie. I want waffle dog.

Wear-wears: a term for underwear, usually used in reference to such belonging to small children, especially with cartoon images of motor vehicles; can refer to any underwear. ie. Sissy wears wear-wears. or Skyler's wear-wears dry.


Wee-wee: Skyler's pronunciation of "Sweetie", the family's shitzu. ie. Did-do in Wee-wee's kennel. or I find Wee-wee's ball.
